Under the direction of the Director of Quality Assurance, the Audit Analyst will be primarily responsible for conducting routine and non-routine audits to assess the quality of Billyard Insurance Group’s (BIG) services. The Audit Analyst collects, reviews & interprets audit data to identify issues and trends in BIG policies and procedures, software efficiencies, the performance of BIG employees, as well as potential errors and omissions exposure. With an understanding of personal lines insurance and BIG’s processes, the Audit Analyst generates reports on their findings which are shared with Business Executives, Managing Partners, Brokers, and/or the Personal Lines team to assist them in making informed decisions regarding BIG’s business strategy to protect both the company and its clientele.
 
What does the Audit Analyst do?
  • Conduct routine & non-routine quality audits/reports
  • Perform special (non-routine) audits:
  • Perform special (non-routine) audits
  • Conduct monthly underwriting audits, complying & interpreting results, submitting report to relevant parties
  • Execute monthly notation tool audit, complying & interpreting results, forwarding report to relevant parties
  • Execute missing coverage audit and contacting brokers to identify coverage gaps
  • Perform routine audits:
  • Conduct Broker service audits, complying & interpreting results, forwarding report to relevant parties
  • Action Broker submission audits, complying & interpreting results, submitting report to relevant parties
  • Execute market audits, complying & interpreting results, forwarding report to relevant parties
  • Update & maintain the Quality Assurance SharePoint page organized
  • Correspond with the Underwriting team to raise questions or concerns (i.e., risk management, policies & procedures inquiries)
  • Collaborate with the Underwriting teams to conduct audits of Personal Lines files
  • Correspond with Brokers & Managing Partners to address outstanding documents
  • Correspond with Brokers & Managing Partners to address quality concerns raised by findings in the audits/reports
  • Interpret & relay audit results/data to relevant parties making recommendations on how to improve quality
  • Update & maintain “Results Calendar” with audit findings, used to inform executive decision making & scorecards
  • Participate in Quality Assurance & Personal Lines team meetings, as necessary
  • Assist Director of QA with projects/tasks, as required
 
Does this sound like you?
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Working knowledge of insurance brokerage operations such as underwriting guidelines, coverage options and various brokerage channels
  • Knowledge of the Insurance Act laid out by Ontario provincial government outlining statutory conditions that must be adhered to for all insurance plans in Ontario
  • Knowledge of RIBO requirements and guidelines set out for insurance brokers selling insurance in Ontario Canada
  • Ability to effectively use computer software (i.e., Power Broker, Microsoft Office Suite, etc.) to manage spreadsheets, documents, databases, calendars, correspondence, & video conferencing
  • Ability to effectively use insurance market portals” to conduct market audits, find updated information on insurance policies, check policy notes and ratings
  • Ability to navigate, evaluate and communicate information online or in a digital format
  • Potential to work on multiple projects/tasks simultaneously while prioritizing responsibilities
  • Ability to identify complex problems to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
  • Experience working with and manipulating data in Microsoft Excel
 
Qualifications
  • Completion of secondary education diploma or equivalent
  • Post-secondary education in Insurance, Economics, Law, Finance, Business Administration, or related field an asset
  • A minimum of at least 3+ years of proven experience working in Personal Lines Insurance
  • RIBO License
  • Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) professional designation, Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) professional designation, Customer Service for the Insurance Professional (CSIP) professional designation, Canadian Professional Insurance Broker (CPIB) professional designation an asset
